This stuff is super ambient.  I have been listening to it a lot lately, for it allows me to sink into bed and lose it, for a bit.  Its quite dark and depressing, actually, but I think that what pulls it away from some other ambient music that I am totally not a fan of.  This dude is nuts and is all about subtle differences and alterations to loops and shit.  Gnarly.

My Dad is Dead

These are post punk garage tunes that are derived from minimal amounts of instruments, while still keeping the speed going.  I have been killing these dudes for a phew months now.  The band (not the original line up) still plays shows every now and then, but you have to find them.  A friend of mine and I had this discussion about whether or not would would wear MDID T shirts if they existed, due to the immediate negative connotations that surround the bands name, it would be sort of odd to wear the shirt.  I think that i have decided to make my own My Dad is Dead  shirt while I'm at my moms. 

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti

This dudes band is super popular amongst certain groups, and he even has a cult following which is sort of weird to me.  The sound is different from anything that I have ever heard.  It is generally wacky/depressing, a weird mix between psychedelic and garage pop (if that even exists?)and is pretty lo fi.  You can hear odd cover ups and mistakes and things in the recordings, for most of the originals were done in Ariel's basement.  Odd, sick.

The Cramps

These creators of Rockabilly will and have been one of my favorite bands for a while now, and they always get thrown into the mix repeatedly.   Super fun, dark, and thrashy, hat else do yo want?
